Top 3 Rides!

The main highlight of carnivals are the exhilarating rides. So here are the highly-anticipated rides that you would not want to miss out on!
1. Star Flyer
This 55-metre carousel allows you to dangle your legs while spinning in circles. We recommend this ride if you’re looking for a relaxing yet stimulating experience. If you intend to bring your phones on the ride, do keep your cameras at ready as this ride presents you nice views of the Central Business District and Marina Bay Skyline.
Credits needed: 10 per ride
Fear factor: 3/10
2. Mach 5
The Mach 5 is not for the faint-hearted. At 55 metres high, riders get swung up to 130 km/h for two to three minutes. So, head on to this ride at the Bayfront event space if you’re up to battle gravity and experience a near-death experience.

Don’t know what to expect from the Star Flyer? Here’s one rider’s point-of-view on the 55 metre ride!
3. Das Fun Schiff

German for “The Fun Ship”, this is basically your usual viking ride but on a whole new level. We recommend sitting at the far sides for the most thrilling experience - because when swung, your bodies will be parallel to the ground, and when going down, the drop-impact is intense.

Fear factor: 8/10

The Prudential Marina Bay Carnival - worth it?
REVIEW
"The tallest ride at the carnival is the Mach 5, standing at 55 metres tall! That is much taller than the 39-metre tall Merlion at Sentosa! "
Top 5 Game Booths!
On top of those rides, you can find a variety of game booths as well! Here’s some to not miss.
1. Mini Hoop the Block
You’re given three tries to get the hoops around the block, but you will need to get it over the fluffy unicorns! The hoop will need to fully land around the block for it to be counted as a win. Don’t be fooled by the cute unicorns and get your game on!
Level of difficulty: 6/10 (Requires both luck and skill)

2. Rebound
This is the ultimate test of both skill and luck. For five credits, you will receive three balls, and to win, you would need to rebound them off the board and into the red box underneath it.
Level of difficulty: 8/10 (requires technique)
3. Roll the ball

As its name suggests, you roll a ball up the table and see which hole it lands in. Each hole has a numeric value which you add up after to determine the prize you’ll win.
Level of difficulty: 6/10 (though we feel it depends on sheer luck!)
4.Bowling

(Text and Photo credit: The Smart Local)
Here, knock down all bowling pins using the three balls given to you and you’ll get your prize. The pins are pretty hard to knock over though, so our advice is to aim properly and use adequate strength.
Level of difficulty: 4/10
5.Catch a Fish

(Text and Photo credit: The Smart Local)
This game requires you to catch four toy fishes using a rod. Each fish is numbered. Add those numbers up and it’ll determine your score. Word of advice if you’re persistent on catching those fishes that are of higher numeric value - switch hands in between or your arm will be sore!
Level of difficulty: 6/10 (pretty luck-based too!)
Top 3 Food Stalls
What is a carnival without food, right? Grab a bite when you are hungry from these three popular food stalls.
If you need to sit to enjoy your delicious grub, you’d be happy to know that there’s a designated seating area at both locations of the carnival. So rest your feet and stomachs before you enjoy the other rides and game stalls!
TIP: Payment for food is by cash and not card! So, remember to save some money for the food stalls!

1. Katoshka
At the carnival, you can find one of the most hyped foods on the list of must-tries since the annual Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar. It’s made using a very simple concept of good old french fries served with a variety of sauces that ranges from sour cream to cheese to beef fries. For those who need some spice in their food, they’ve got sambal fries!

2. The Jumbo Cookie and Milk
Have you heard of the Jumbo Cookies Challenge? Then this might be a familiar brand to you guys! They took part in the recent Geylang Serai Ramadan bazaar, and it is run by a group of business students in their final year of polytechnic. Get a bucket of quality chocolate chip cookies and dunk it with the free flow milk or you could even indulge in their milkshakes instead.

An all-in-all
Overall, we feel that this carnival is definitely worth visiting, especially since it’s the largest carnival in Singapore and rides here cannot be found elsewhere on the island - therefore making it a unique experience.
It answers both the thrill and fun factors you’d want out of a carnival, but we would still advise you to watch your spendings as your persistence to win and yearn for excitement may just lead to misjudgements.
